Our Beer Expert - PremiumNearBeer.com

Hello Everybody,

Welcome to my second blog post.  As promised in last weeks’ post I will introduce you to our Beer Expert: Crystal Luxmore.  Crystal is a Toronto-based beer writer and editor, a Certified Cicerone, and a Prud’homme Beer Sommelier.  Now I know what you’re thinking – where’s my certificate from all the beer I drank in College?  Well, there’s a little more to it than that (http://www.beercertificate.ca/).  She is the Hopped Up columnist for Toronto’s best weekly magazine, The Grid and she chronicles beer nationally for The Globe & Mail, enRoute, Beer Advocate, ELLE Canada, Reader’s Digest, Canadian Business and Tidings magazines.  Her work has been nominated for two National Magazine Awards.  Nothing makes her happier than writing about beer – except drinking it.  We are very excited to have her review our products!

One of the first lagers she reviewed for us is a Portuguese Non-Alcoholic Pilsner called Sagres.  Here is what she had to say: Tasting Notes: This light golden lager with a bubbly white head has notes of fresh-cut grass, hay and rising bread dough.  Food Pairing: The grassy hops can stand up to one or two-year-old cheddars, poached salmon, or a classic ham-and-Swiss sandwich. Verdict: One of my favourites of Premium’s collection this lager is crisp and clean with a sturdy hop bitterness drying out the finish. This is an all-occasion brew to drink rain, shine or tornado (well, if it’s a really big tornado you might want to reach for the alcoholic stuff).

Mmmm….excuse me while I go to the fridge for a ham-and-swiss with a cold Sagres.

Ok, I’m back.  Delicious!!!

Thanks for reading this edition of our blog.  I encourage you to comment and share this blog.  If you have ideas for the website, our service, or what products we carry then we want to hear from you!  My next blog post will talk about where some of our best non-alcoholic beer comes from and look at another review.
