- Beer Expert
Crystal Luxmore is a Toronto-based beer writer and editor, a Certified Cicerone, and a Prud'homme Beer Sommelier. Her work has been published in the Toronto Star, Toronto Life, Chatelaine, The Walrus and online for the New York Times, CBC and msn.ca. She is the Hopped Up columnist for Toronto’s best weekly magazine, The Grid, and she chronicles beer nationally for The Globe& Mail, enRoute, Beer Advocate, ELLE Canada, Reader’s Digest, Canadian Business and Tidings magazines. Her work has been nominated for two National Magazine Awards.
For the last two years, she has done little else but taste, write and study beer. As a Certified Cicerone and a Prud’homme Beer Sommelier she leads beer tastings, seminars, beer and food pairing workshops and hosts beer dinners for clients including Young Women in Law, the Royal Winter Agricultural Fair, and Session beer festival.
She is one of the founders of Brauhaus, a club that curates the best home brews in southern Ontario and shares them with the beer-loving public. She is also a member of the Pink Boots Society, Barley's Angels Toronto, and the organizer of the Ontario Hopspiel to raise funds for native women.
There’s nothing she loves more than writing about beer — except drinking it.
